Burnt Time

This is a short video I made as practice. I included scenes from Alfred Hitchcock's "Vertigo" and "To Catch a Thief", as well as footage that I shot. The background sounds are recorded by me and the song is Lana del Rey's interlude "Burnt Norton" (written after T. S. Elliot's poem).

I tried to mix the old and new footage in order to suggest the vintage and nostalgic effect that the music expresses. The various unclear zooms suggest the unknown and mysterious concept that the poem tries to describe: time. The other clips, from the films, are in no chronological order because sometimes even the passing of time can be strange and confusing.
