Minor Task - Postcard

One of the minor tasks I will have to complete for the option of short film is a post card advertisement. Above are some examples that I found that might inspire and help me create mine. I noticed that most posters of short films have many selections, nominations and awards from film festivals. Mainly they show simple images of people in more dramatic or unusual positions and situations. The background is often faded and the title is written in large text as it is the first thing the public must see, some also show positive reviews from festivals or magazines. They can also show production credits and the web site link of the film. On the back they may show screening times of the film at a certain festival or cinema, and contact information.

Postcard advertisements are handed out at festivals to get the attention of the public so that they may watch the film. They are very important because often, short films are done with a low budget, so advertisement must be done in a cheep and effective way. Sometimes, the film postcard can be combined with the business card, so that possible investors or producers may contact the film maker. This can be very useful for future projects and for being discovered if you are not yet an established film maker.
