Preliminary Task - editing

I would like to practice more varied editing techniques by creating two or three videos or short clips. I have some ideas about the stories and where and when I can film. But what I had in mind was using some of the editing styles used by Lynch in the new series of Twin Peaks. The last two episodes especially, use overlays, jump cuts, lights and special effects. Bellow is a video recap of the two episodes.
